(demo news) Green Weekend: Over 100 Saplings Planted in Community Park

News Date: 03-Jul-2025

In a successful show of unity and environmental responsibility, our CAMS community organized a Tree Plantation Drive last Saturday as part of our ongoing "Go Green" initiative. The event was both a community beautification effort and a bonding experience, where over 70 residents—ranging from kids to senior citizens—came together and planted over 100 saplings in and around the central community park.

The drive began at 8:00 AM with a short briefing by the CAMS Environmental Committee, followed by distribution of saplings, gloves, and basic planting tools. Each volunteer was guided by assigned eco-champions from the organizing team. Trees planted included neem, mango, ashoka, and a variety of flowering shrubs.

In addition to the physical activity, the event was streamed live via the CAMS online portal, allowing members who couldn’t attend in person to still participate virtually. Residents shared photos and videos using the #CAMSGoGreen hashtag on the community forum.

The plantation drive ended with light refreshments and a short award ceremony recognizing the contributions of our youngest volunteers. All saplings have been geo-tagged and assigned to volunteer caretakers, whose progress will be monitored through the CAMS app’s new “Green Tracker” feature.

This event is a fine example of how our hybrid community uses technology to enhance physical experiences. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!
